The ViOS Project is dedicated to sharing Jesus Christ with all people. In order to protect and carry out this mission, we need significant financial support. Your support helps provide opportunities and platforms for the musicians of ViOS to partner with churches, build relationships, and present the message of life to communities in the Great Lakes region and beyond.
why
WHY THE ViOS PROJECT NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
The Bible contains many verses commanding Christians to share the gospel, for which there is always a need (1 Peter 3:15, 2 Timothy 4:5). According to a recent study by the Barna Group, more than half of U.S. churchgoers have not heard of the Great Commission (The Future of Teaching the Great Commission). In the same study, Allen Yeh, Biola University professor of intercultural studies and missiology reported, “I think some of the ignorance of this term can be attributed to churches not teaching this concept enough any more. I certainly heard it a lot growing up, but perhaps it has been lost on this current generation of believers” (The Future of Teaching the Great Commission). In addition, the 2018 Gallup poll reported that 27% of Americans had little or no confidence in the church or organized religion, compared to 11% in 1973 (Gallup). The ViOS Project strives not only to carry out the Great Commission, but also to reignite the desire of churches to fulfill it as well.
how
HOW WiLL FUNDS BE USED TO SUPPORT THE ViOS PROJECT?
Funds raised for The ViOS Project will primarily allow the ensemble to provide more concerts and foster relationships with more churches and ministries to share the gospel. These funds will also be used to fairly compensate the staff and musicians for their time and talents. Staff members will be supported for tasks such as maintaining the website and social media platforms, graphic design, organization correspondence, booking concerts, and management of personnel. The musicians, many of whom are graduates of top music schools and conservatories across the nation, will be supported for rehearsal time, concert performances, and occasionally travel expenses. Funds will also help The ViOS Project develop and provide workshops and classes for partnering churches / ministries before they host concerts in order to maximize their outreach to the surrounding community. In addition, funds may be used to purchase, rent, or repair equipment used in concerts.
what
WHAT iS THE NEED, AND WHO WiLL BENEFiT FROM YOUR SUPPORT?
All Christians have a duty to be ‘ambassadors,’ to grow and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). There are many reasons why sharing the gospel becomes difficult for churches and ministries. Sometimes, they become complacent, forgetful, or are simply unaware of the importance and necessity of this duty. Even if there is willingness to share the gospel, these groups can also lack the energy, inspiration, or resources needed to reach people in their communities. The ViOS Project aims to assist these organizations by working closely with church staff and members to provide a compelling and enjoyable event for all. Ideally, community members are able to attend a free concert, learn about Jesus, and be connected with a church family and other believers, while the hosting church or ministry gains experience in event planning, and reignites its passion for sharing the gospel.
The ViOS Project’s mission creates benefits and positive experiences for both the hosting organization and its community. In partnering with ViOS, churchgoers are able to learn more about the Great Commission and how to better share the gospel with those in their communities while becoming revived in their own faith. In addition, the concerts that The ViOS Project performs also bring a renewed interest and appreciation of old, classic hymns, many of which have been glazed over or forgotten by the upcoming generation. Another unique aspect of The ViOS Project’s work is that hosting organizations are able to help one another through supporting the ensemble. Larger churches that are able to give more funds to the mission help to support ViOS to collaborate with smaller churches with fewer resources. Donors and hosting organizations who support The ViOS Project in its mission can expect to see the gospel shared, faith renewed, congregations inspired, classic hymns revived, and community members involved.
Without the support it needs to operate, The ViOS Project misses out on serving smaller churches that may not have the resources or knowledge to reach out to their communities. This results in fewer people being reached and touched by the news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
