It’s here! At last, we are breaking ground on The ViOS Project’s long-awaited third album, HOPE! This extensive project will include all new hymn arrangements produced in both physical and digital listening formats, new apparel and print products, compensation for our amazing musicians, and funds dedicated to the creation of professionally produced promotional videos. For almost two years, the entire world has been turned upside down. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it brought out every fear and emotion in us all. Many people had to rethink their career paths, and some even lost loved ones. On top of that, our nation was bombarded with political, economic, and social unrest. What happens when everything you’ve built your life upon crumbles beneath your feet? If you have nothing else in your life that you can hang onto that is truly unshakable, then you lose purpose, meaning, and hope.

The Bible speaks of a life entirely different from that - a life that is unshakeable, eternal, free, and full of divine hope. Hope in Christ is far different from our earthly understanding of hope. When we speak about hope, it is often in this context: “I hope it doesn’t rain today” or “I hope I’m on time.” What we really mean is that we wish for specific things, but we wouldn’t put any sort of faith in our “hopes.” When the Bible speaks of hope, it’s completely different.

“And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Rom. 5:5).

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 15:13).

“Since we have such a hope, we are very bold…” (2 Cor. 3:12).

In the midst of the chaos and turmoil of life, there is only one thing that remains constant: Jesus Christ. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).” He offers a new, divine, life to anyone who wants it; a life full of love, joy, peace, faith, and hope. Life in Him begins now and continues on into eternity! When you hope in Christ, it means that you begin to trust Him, to love Him, and to walk with Him. As you continue to grow, you will begin to realize that there is something so solid and immovable in your soul. Hebrews 6:19 says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…”

The ViOS Project’s mission has always been to share the eternal life of Christ with the world. With this third album our goal is to reveal how much hope, purpose, and blessing comes with that life. Our prayer is that the message and music of this album will point people to the hope that is found in Christ Jesus.

“... at that time without the Messiah...having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Eph. 2:12-13)

We have a lot on the docket with this project! To start, here's a list of all the physical items we are planning to produce:

As you can imagine, this is a fairly costly project! Our overall budget for this project is about $20,000. It may seem like a lot, but for the amount of material and content that we would like to produce, that number is fairly low! We are saving a large amount of money by doing a lot of the work ourselves, such as the arranging, the recording, mixing, and mastering, as well as all the graphic, print, and web design. Below you will find a breakdown of that $20,000 and how funds will be used among all the merchandise, artistic services, and behind-the-scenes costs.

Time Frame

We would love to give everyone a firm time frame for the release of this album and the new and exciting extras, like t-shirts, hoodies, and posters! There are many factors that go into the production of an album, including arranging music, rehearsing, recording, scheduling, mixing, mastering, printing, deliveries, and more. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected supply chain delays, which may hinder the arrival of some of our materials. That said, we hope to have the album completed in the summer of 2022. We will be sure to keep you all updated on the status of the album in the coming months. We are so grateful for your support and your patience as we work to bring this project to completion in order to further equip us all to share the news of Jesus with others.

About The ViOS Project

In 2011, Cleveland musician and artist Julian Taylor founded the electro-acoustic ensemble, The ViOS Project, with a few arrangements of old hymns and a desire to fulfill the Great Commission (Mat. 28:19-20). On April 27, 2012, Julian and several of his friends and colleagues held a free concert of hymn arrangements and The ViOS Project was born. Today the core mission of The ViOS Project still remains - to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. This mission is accomplished through the revitalization of Christian hymns, free public concerts, and partnerships with churches and ministries.

Over the years The ViOS Project has given 31 free concerts in 7 states, and has over 30 unique hymn arrangements. In 2014 The ViOS Project fulfilled a successful Kickstarter campaign for $5,000 to produce its first album of hymns, HOLY. Just two years later, ViOS’ faithful supporters helped raise another $15,000 to help produce a second album, LOVE. This campaign also allowed the ensemble to become a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2017. After a few years of focusing on performances in many states across the Great Lakes region, ViOS has been called to begin yet another project!

Sharing the Gospel of Hope

All the products and content accompanying the HOPE album have been intentionally designed, not only to lead those who are without hope to a hope in Jesus, but to be a tool to help people share that hope with others. If you have been to a ViOS concert before, then you know that the entire set of songs in that concert have been carefully chosen and interwoven with small testimonies and Bible verses to present an entire, cohesive message of eternal life. This album will be no different. These carefully selected hymns are beautiful and inspirational on their own, but together, form an uplifting message of hope in Christ together.

Companion Pamphlets

The HOPE album will also include a companion pamphlet entitled, “Finding Hope.” This will act like a listening guide, directing the listener through the music on the album with a number of Bible verses, lessons, and stories detailing what it means to hope in Jesus and what eternal life with Him looks like. Every album will come with a pamphlet, making it an ideal tool for sharing the gospel.

Merchandise

All of our paraphernalia, like our t-shirts and hoodies, are designed to be stylish and comfy, while also serving as conversation starters. Hopefully, these items can provide an opportunity for you to share about your hope in Christ. Directions and tips will be included with each product to help guide you in using these items for this purpose.
